AI Foundations Workshop

One day covering prompting, tools, and real workflows. Your team uses them the next morning.

Duration
Half-day or Full-day
Audience
Teams of 6-30
Investment
from $2,500/group
Delivery
AU-wide

Most teams already have people using ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot. But there is no shared way of working with them. The result is uneven quality, hidden risk, and skill that never compounds across the team. The AI Foundations Workshop is a single day that fixes that. Your team leaves with a shared vocabulary, a set of prompt patterns that consistently outperform freeform prompting, and three of their own workflows rebuilt and measured.

Built around real work, not a curriculum.

A shared team vocabulary for working with modern AI tools

Five prompt patterns that consistently outperform freeform prompting

Workflows from your own work, rebuilt with a facilitator

A team prompt library you can keep using on Monday

A clear view of where AI breaks: hallucination, confidentiality, IP

A 30-day adoption plan with named owners (full-day)

By the end of this program.

01

Describe the modern AI tool landscape and choose the right tool for a task

02

Apply five prompt patterns: Role, Structure, Examples, Constraints, Iteration

03

Rebuild your own workflows using the patterns, with measurable time savings

04

Identify hallucination, privacy and IP risks in everyday use

None. The workshop is built for working professionals who use email and a browser. Senior leaders and junior staff in the same room is ideal. The patterns are the same; only the workflows differ.

One day on-site or remote (7 hours including breaks for full-day; 3.5 hours for half-day). Pre-work: 30 minutes. Account setup and one workflow each participant wants to rebuild. Optional 30-day follow-up channel after the workshop.

How the day runs.

The day is split between foundations and applied work. The morning covers the tool landscape and the five prompt patterns with worked examples from your industry. The afternoon is hands-on: every participant rebuilds three of their own workflows with a facilitator, the rebuilt versions go into a team prompt library, and the day ends with a signed-off 30-day adoption plan. Bring-your-own-laptop. We send a tool checklist a week prior.

The curriculum.

Module 01
The modern AI stack

Generative AI is a moving target. We map the current tool landscape (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity) and the sector-specific tools that matter for your team. For each tool we cover what it's actually good at, what it costs, and how to pick between them without reading another comparison blog. By the end of the module your team shares a working vocabulary for the tools they have access to today.

Module 02
The five prompt patterns

Freeform prompting is the reason most teams get inconsistent results. This module covers the five patterns that consistently outperform: Role (who the AI is being), Structure (how the answer should be shaped), Examples (what good looks like), Constraints (what to avoid), and Iteration (how to refine without starting over). Each pattern is paired with a worked example from your industry, then practised live.

Module 03
Workflow rebuilds

Every participant brings three workflows they actually do: briefs, summaries, drafts, reviews, research, whatever takes time. With a facilitator, each one is rebuilt using the five patterns from Module 02. We capture before-and-after on time and quality, and the rebuilt workflow goes into the team prompt library. This is the spine of the day.

Module 04
Guardrails and the 30-day plan

AI tools fail in predictable ways and a team that uses them needs to recognise the failure modes: hallucination, confidentiality, IP ownership, audit trails, vendor lock-in. We cover the Australian context (Privacy Act considerations and sector regulators) and produce a practical guardrails list: what to check, what to redact, what never to paste. We close the day by writing a 30-day adoption plan together: who champions which workflows, what rolls out first, what gets measured. We sign it off before leaving.

What you walk out with.

Not graded. Delivered. Three artefacts walk out of the room: a team prompt library in your tool of choice, three rebuilt workflows per participant with measured baselines, and a signed-off 30-day adoption plan with named owners.

However your team works.

Common questions.

How many people can attend?+

6-30. Below 6 we recommend our Tools and Prompting Fundamentals; above 30 we run two parallel cohorts with paired facilitators.

Half-day or full-day?+

Half-day covers the foundations: the modern AI stack and the five prompt patterns, with one shared workflow rebuild. Full-day covers all four modules, three rebuilds per participant, and the signed-off 30-day adoption plan. Teams that want compounding capability should book the full-day.

Do participants need laptops?+

Yes. Bring-your-own-laptop with access to the AI tools listed in the pre-work checklist (we send this a week prior).

What pre-work is involved?+

Roughly 30 minutes: tool account setup, and pick three of your own workflows to rebuild on the day. We provide a workflow selection template.

Is the curriculum specific to our industry?+

Yes. Worked examples, case studies and the afternoon rebuilds are all anchored in your industry and your team's real work. This is included, not an extra.

Can we run a public workshop instead of a private one?+

Yes. Public workshops run monthly in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Private team workshops are typically better value above 8 participants and allow deeper tailoring.
